Meet Georgia – the proud new owner of her very own Celebration Home and a story we’re very proud to have been a part of. Her journey began after a challenging two years battling a life-threatening autoimmune disease. In an effort to lift her spirits, Georgia’s mum took her to a display village (with a hidden agenda), where she walked into a Celebration Homes display and immediately fell in love with the design. She met with one of our New Homes Consultants and felt an instant connection. Before she knew it, she was signing the contract to build her first home.

“It came at such a good time for me because I needed something to look forward to and I needed that excitement back in my life.”

From the beginning, Georgia had a very clear vision for how she wanted her home to look, and with the support of the team at Home Collective, she was encouraged to trust her gut and go outside of her comfort zone. One of the most memorable features of her home is the pink feature tile in her ensuite. Georgia recalls that seeing the tiles laid on the wall during construction and it being a core memory during her build.

When Georgia received the keys to her new home, she couldn’t wait to celebrate. A glass of champagne in hand, she described the overwhelming feeling of “freedom”—the feeling of owning her first home, her very own space. And the best part? Styling her home exactly how she wants and hanging things on the wall without needing to ask anyone for permission.

“It’s also exciting because it’s just that pinnacle of you’ve made it.”

Georgia has two favourite rooms in her home. The first is the ensuite, which she designed to be a spa-like retreat. It’s a space where she can unwind, light a candle, do her makeup, and pamper herself. When she’s not in there, you’ll likely find her in her living area, enjoying a cup of coffee in the cosy comfort of the space she’s made her own. These two rooms, along with her kitchen, are the ones that get the most compliments when friends and family come over.

Georgia enjoys hosting family and friends, so it was important for her home to feel comfortable and welcoming. On weekends, you’ll find her cooking dinner for her parents to “pay them back for all the meals they’ve cooked me over the years,” sharing wine with friends, or having her niece and nephew over to claim the TV room for a Bluey marathon.

“I wanted that cosiness and comfort but also I want other people to come into my space and feel that same feeling as well. I want my family and friends to be able to come in and feel like they’re at home”

One of Georgia’s favourite features of her home design is the open-plan living area and side courtyard, which fills the space with natural light. She’s especially glad she extended the kitchen island and moved the sink to the scullery—an intentional choice that maximised her entertaining space.

Looking back on the entire journey, Georgia says her experience exceeded all expectations. From the building process to the aftercare, everything went smoothly. “The people I’ve spoken to after the fact—making sure everything has gone smoothly and that nothing is going wrong—has been outstanding from start to finish”, she shares.

“The whole thing was excitingevery stepand that’s what I think I loved about Celebration Homes, is that they made every step exciting!”

When asked to sum up her building experience in three words, Georgia said: smooth, fun, and compassionate.

If you’re dreaming of building your own home, Georgia’s best advice is to take that first step and speak to a New Homes Consultant. “I didn’t think building was possible until I took that first step”.
