Meet Alissa & Eric, along with their two cheeky dogs, George and Charlie. Our clients had a vision of leaving the nest and getting into their own home, but initially thought building a home was out of their budget. That all changed when they met with our New Homes Consultant at one of our display homes, who turned their dream of building into a reality. Fast forward to now, they are happily living in their first home. We had the pleasure of sitting down with them as they shared their journey with us.

“We had gone to a bunch of other houses and the Sales Reps there weren’t really clicking. But when we went to the Celebration Homes one, we had a really good New Homes Consultant and he made everything happen for us.”

But let’s start from the beginning, shall we?

After finalising their finance, next came choosing their home design… their focus was not so much about ticking off specific room requirements, but about how the overall layout and feel of the home resonated with them, and they found that in the Ella 190!

After gathering inspiration from Pinterest and Instagram, they were ready to conquer their Selections Consult in Home Collective, which was their favourite part of the homebuilding journey. Eric fondly recalls the day as fun and easy going, with Alissa passionately involved in making the decisions. They playfully argue about who was fussier. Eric claims it was Alissa, and she insists it was Eric—let’s call it a tie.

“When we went to Home Collective to do the selections, a lot of what we chose wasn’t an upgrade. Which was nice that we didn’t have to worry about huge expenses. They had everything that I was envisioning there as an option.”

The fact that they were building a home officially sunk in once the brickwork commenced. Walking through the construction site, they began to visualise their future home taking shape, imagining where each room would be. Throughout the seven-month construction period, they visited their home daily, eagerly watching its progress.

“At the end we were like, SWEET! Everything went well and there were literally no issues whatsoever.”

Upon completion, their home was everything they had hoped for. As they arrived at their key handover with a moving truck in tow, they wasted no time settling in on that very same day. Their first meal in the new house? A KFC feast amidst the chaos of moving in—a honest and realistic answer!

Alissa and Eric have enjoyed adding personal touches to their home, painting the wall in their master bedroom a relaxing sage green colour and transforming their backyard from sand to so much greenery. They dabbled in DIY projects, which led to a few hilarious mishaps—holes in the wall and blown plaster being the highlights.

Now that they are settled, Eric’s favourite spot in their new home is the living area, where he enjoys unwinding on the couch and catching up on his favourite TV shows. Alissa, on the other hand, adores the kitchen. It is exactly what she envisioned and has quickly become the centre of admiration when guests come over. A unique feature they enjoy is the bar fridge in their scullery, always fully stocked and a frequently used feature in their home.

Weekends are spent enjoying time with their dogs and Eric enjoys tending to their garden, while Alissa loves a weekend reset cooking, organising and cleaning to prep for the week ahead, ready to conquer Monday. Their home has all the storage they need, with cupboards, pan drawers, and a place for everything, something Alissa is passionate about.

When reflecting on their homebuilding journey, they were thrilled with the timeframes and quality of their home. Throughout the process, they cherished taking photos at every stage, documenting the transformation from their empty block to their beautiful new home.

Now, as they have settled into their very own home with George and Charlie, they can look back on the memories made and see how far they have come. We at Celebration Homes are proud to have been part of their journey and wish them all the best in the years to come!
